Abstract
It has been analysis that several aspects as required by International Atomic Energy Agency covering among other: surface faulting, seismicity, suitability of subsurface materials, volcanology, coastal flooding and river flooding, based on secondary data and literature analysis. The analysis is aimed in order to have an alternative of candidate site in Java Island for future Indonesia NPP development. The results of analysis indicate that North Coast of Batang Region did not have capable fault indication which is endanger potential location of candidate site and the seismicity of north coast is with in low category. The North Coast of Batang Region is composed by sediment clastic rock of Damar formation that have a good support capability, hence the North Coast of Batang Region has been considered as a good candidate NPP site. Volcanology aspect in Batang Region is considered as one of the most safety aspect. The farthest distance of Jembangan’s volcano product distribution is 33.24 km and it was not reach the north coast. Elevations of some places in Batang north coasts are > 5m that mean are free from flooding hazard potential. The interest areas to be developed as an alternative NPP location cover coast of Batang’s district (> 500 ha) and coast of Subah-Gringsing’s district (> 3500 ha).
