OPTIMASI KOMUNIKASI DALAM IMPLEMENTASI BUDAYA KESELAMATAN DI PDK

ABSTRACT
COMMUNICATION OPTIMIZATION IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SAFETY CULTURE IN PDK, The usage of communication is very necessary in instilling a culture of safety because safety culture is an abstract concept that must be acquired by all members, understood then implemented. Using descriptive qualitative method with the self-examination questionnaire, the data questionnaire technique filled by all PDK employees by looking at the 5 characteristics of the buddies in accordance with the guidelines for BATAN Regulation No. 200 of 2012; produce 682 scale 1000 with Good description in 2017. By optimizing all communication channels that are carried out and applied both horizontally, vertically and diagonally, verbal and non verbal the safety culture continue to be socialized. Understanding the safety culture has been strengthened with the result of the selft assessment in 2018 which are 791 good descriptions. This strengthening can be seen from 5 measured characteristics, namely: Safety as a Value Recognized and Understood, Presence of Leadership in Safety, Presense of Accountability in Safety, and Developing Safety of Learning Processes. With the approach of verbal and non verbal communication optimization through K3 activities, safety patrol, implementing the safety culture, symbol/ safety signs, emergency exercises carried out contiuosly and some reviews from P2K3 coordination meeting, the safety culture is strengthening. The conclusion is that the safety culture must continue to be well communicated followed by commitment from 3 elements of policy makers, managers and individuals so that the safety culture can be strengthened and implemented.
