Abstract

The determination of "Z" number in tributhylphosphat (TBP) and the mixure of 30% TBP-kerosen as well as 30% TBP-kerosen whic have been irradiated gamma ray from Co-60 and spent fuel was reported. The dose rates of Co-60 was 960 krad per hour and of spent fuel was 4,750 krad per hour. The variation of the total dose were 1x10 5, 1x10 6, 5x10 6 and 5x10 7 rads. "Z" n umber was defined as the number or gramol of zicronium that was bound by one billion (10 9) liters of solven, the distribution coeficient of zicronium was also determinated. The determination of "Z" number and the distribution coefficient were carried out using the beckmann -25 spectrophotometer at 525 nm. The experiment rsult showed that "Z" number increased when the radiation doses was increased.
