Abstract

The aim of this investigation is to assess the effectiveness of iron inhibition and the rate at which iron corrodes in HClsolution media using leaf from purple sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) powder and extract. Immersing iron in a 3%HCl solution for 12 days while adding 9 grams of inhibitor produced the lowest corrosion rate and maximum inhibitionefficiency. In these conditions, a concentrated extract of purple sweet potato leaves produced a corrosion rate of 0.3197mg/cm2.day and an inhibitory efficiency of 96.7191%. Then using an inhibitor of purple sweet potato leaf powder, thecorrosion rate that occurs is 0.4585 mg/
