The Ngapak dialect provides insights into the environment of local communities and how their language is shaped. While some argue that studying a dialect doesn't sufficiently illuminate the landscape or influence community identity and language use as previously thought, recent research has demonstrated the linguistic significance of the Ngapak dialect, offering new perspectives on th unique local communities that use this langauege and their impact on them. This study investigates usage of the Ngapak dialect of this language, its characteristics and variations, relationship with the landscape of local communities, and its role in shaping identity. Data was gathered by conducting interviews with the speakers of the dialect and observations of language usage in local communities. The findings reveal that the Ngapak dialect exhibits features and variations closely linked to the cultural landscape of these communities. This study concludes that the Ngapak dialect has a significant contribution to comprehending and safeguarding the fabric of these settlements. The findings unravel the cultural aspects of the vernacular settlements through the lens of the Ngapak dialect and call for their preservation through planned interventions.
