Abstract

EVALUATION OF SURFACE CONTAMINATION MEASUREMENT OF CONTAMINATED MATERIAL FOR
CLEARANCE PURPOSE On THE METAL SCRAP WASTE OF DECOMMISIONING RESULTS FROM
PHOSPHATE PURIFICATION FACILITY OF PT. PETROKIMIA GRESIK. Clearance is an exemption from BAPETEN oversight for the open radioactive substances, radioactive waste, contaminated material. For radioactive waste and contaminated material also can be freed from supervision of Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency if surface
contamination level less than or equal to 1 Bq/cm 2
for identified radionuclide content and less than or equal to 0,1 Bq/cm 2 for unidentified radionuclide content. Plate waste from decommisioning of phosphate purification facility was measured use MCB2 surface contamination surveymeter. The results of surface contamination measurement, there are 65 pieces of metal scrap weighing 1226 Kg which surface contamination below the clearance value.
