Abstract

UTILIZATION STUDY OF ZEOLYTE AS AN SUPPORTING MATERIALS OF OXALIC ACID COUMPOUND
FOR DECONTAMINATION PROCESS OF ALUMINIUM SURFACE. Decontamination study of aluminium surface by zeolite oxalic loaded was done. The obyective is preparing of a decontamination method for high precision aluminium equipment made to reused propose without any lack and decreasing of their specification.
The loading was done by immersion of 20 g zeolyte into the 25 ml oxalic acid solution with various concentration of : 0,1 M, 0,2 M, 0,3 M, 0,4 M and 0,5 M during 45 days. After immersion process zeolite was separated by decanting and then the solution was analysed to determine the content of oxalic acid by volumetric method using solution standard of 0,1N NaOH and zeolyte was dryed in the oven at 110 o C for 3 hours. The result of oxalic acid in the zeolyte was 0,183 ;0,282 ; 0,370 ; 0,567 ; 0,539 mmol/g. The decontamination experiments was done for aluminium pieces with dimension 6 cm x 6 cm and 0,4 mm thickness by brushing continously using magnetic stirrer with rotation velocity are : 100 ; 200;
300 rpm for 5 minutes respectively. The brushing result is not yet significant to weight reduction of aluminium but shown a brigtening of surfaces. It indicates that the zeolyte can be used for decontaminazer matterial and must be continued by experiments to find the optimazing of decontamination process.
