Abstract

The electronic structures on heavy fermion compound CeIn3 have been studied by high resolution Compton scattering experiment at ambient pressure without magnetic field. Two-dimensional electron momentum densities have been reconstructed from a set of Compton profiles measured between the 〈100〉 and 〈110〉 axes on single crystal at temperatures of 7, 20, and 300 K. Then two-dimensional electron occupation number densities, which are the projection of Fermi surface structure onto the view plane, have been derived from the respective electron momentum densities through Lock–Crisp–West analysis. They reflect the features of electronic structure in the antiferromagnetic state and the change of 4f electron between itinerant and localized states in the paramagnetic phase.
