Hydrothermal processing is suitable process for feedstock with high moisture content, such as manure, sewagesludge, food waste, municipal wastes, forest waste, plants and aquatic biomass as micro- and macro-algae. Theresults of hydrothermal processing are residual solid, soluble liquid and gases products. Liquid product iscalled bio-crude or bio-oil as a fuel raw materials..The residual solid has high carbon content as a solid fueland gases products mostly contain a mixture of H2, CO2, CO, CH4. The hydrothermal carbonization (HTC)resulted higher residual solid. By another treatment solid carbon can be used in many application, such asadsorbent, capacitor, batteries, and energy storage. Hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) resulted higher solubleliquid.Upgrading of bio-oil made the bio-oil as fuel grade, and hydrothermal gasification (HTC) resulted ahigher syngas products. Biomass with high moisture content that have lower energy content can be convertedinto three phasesthat have high energy content.
