Abstract

Sea Anemone (Coelenterata, Act1naria), Its Uses and Dangers. Actinarians, as all other anthozoans, are exlusivelly marine. The are solitary, have no skeletons equipped with mesenterial paires. Their tentacles are cyclically arranged and commonly retractile. Many species acted as host in the symbiotic relationship with pomacentrid fishes that allow the fish to swim among their tentacles. Some species are edible and widely used as ornamental animal in seawater aquarium. However, some species are venomous and harmful to man.
