Abstract
Some Notes On Crinoids And Their Living Habits. Crinoids are well known called lili laut which is one member of the Phylum Echinodermata. Most of them inhabit coral-reef area and the rest inhabit rocky-sandy bottoms. Crinoids are the most conservative of coral-reef echinoderms, they always fed on plankton and paniculate material in the water column as passive suspension-feeders throughout their evolutionary histroy. Crinoids have not been separated into groups on the basis of food type. As passive suspension feeders, crinoids are dependent on exogenous water movement to bring food. Local distribution of crinoids largely results from availability of currents, shelter, proper topographic conditions for feeding and avoidance of wave impact and predators. Systematic, habitat, distribution, reproduction, and notes on its symbiotic animals is discussed in this article.
