Influence of Irradiance and Culture Density on the Productivity of Two Algae, Ch/ore/la sp and Ankistrodesmus convulutus. Growth and productivity of two alga, Chlorella sp and A.convulutus grown turbidostatic semicontinuously was observed under various irradiance and culture density regimes. The algal growth rate was consistently increased with light intensities, whereas culture density increased the biomass along with the reduction in the algal growth rate. Both algae achieved their maximum productivity at 20,000 lux and OD 0.9, which are valued of 88.07 mg/I/dayand 57.23 mg/l/day for Chlorella sp and A. convulutus, respectively. The function of growth rate and culture density on the algal output rate is further discussed
