Abstract
cohydrology approach is known as an adaptive management because it is based on the integration dynamics and dynamics of aquatic biota within a framework at a catchments area. Ecohydrology approach was developed through several research centers around the world, one of which is Indonesia as a pilot ecohydrology problem in the tropics. Indonesia designation as a Center for Asia Pacific Regional Ecohydrology has been through a long process that began in the village of Dienten, Salzburg, Austria in 1997, then continued on meeting 2000 in Venice Italy, Poland, Bogor, Bali, and finally set in Paris in October 2010. Establishment of Asia-Pacific Center for Ecohydrology (APCE) was initiated by the Indonesian Institute of Sciences with a field station in the reservoir of Saguling (Citarum River). Saguling Reservoir selected after the selection of multiple locations and issues such as coal mines in East Kalimantan, the location of industry and tourism on the island of Small, lake management and lake Maninjau. Saguling reservoir used as a Hydroelectric Power Plant with an installed capacity of 797.3 MW. Reservoir is under heavy pressure in the presence of organic matter pollution generated by the remaining fish food, fish excretion results, and pollutants from Citarum basin in the upstream. As a Centre, APCE with referrals of governance, namely UNESCO, KNIU, and LIPI are organizations made up of directors who heads the division I - V and assisted by secretariats, has the function of coordinating the implementation of a research collaboration with the central government, local and private, to build a network for exchange of information and knowledge, training, seminars and workshops, as well as publishing and dissemination of research results.
