Abstract

The rate of combustion of coal briquet of honeycomb type has been conducted for two different fineness, 100 mesh and 30 mesh. From five to ten tests of each size shows that the rate of combustion are almost linear. However, the thermal efficiencies proporsionally staged in the three periode. First, the efficiency starting increase because still ig the heating stage, second it reaches the maximum efficiency stage and then in third stage the efficiency decrease until all the coal are bumt. So, eventhough the rate of combustions are constant, the efficiency has different trend which has been affected by the ash above the combustion occurrence from the top to the bottom of the briquet.
