Abstract
This study is mainly concerned with the economic impacts of policy scenarios on sugar industries and other sectors, therefore the objectives of the study are focused as follows: (1) to examine the economic impacts of the government's policy scenarios. (2) to identify the best scenarios recommended in order to develop domestic sugar cane industries. To assess the impacts, an input-out model of the Indonesian sugar industries is developed and it is used to estimate the indicators of output, income, value added and employment. The results of the study show that the tariff range from 50% to 95% might be compromised between producers and consumers and the combination of additional policies such as trade, subsidy and acceleration policies with the tariff policy might produce promising results and achieve competitiveness.
