Abstract

One of the global skills that needs to be developed in schools/madrasas is literacy. The ability to access, comprehend, and use information intelligently through a
variety of activities, such as reading, viewing, listening, writing, and speaking, is known as literacy. The Madrasah Literacy Movement (GLM) is a broad initiative to transform madrasas into educational institutions whose members are lifelong readers. The Al-Quran literacy movement in madrasah, meanwhile, is anticipated to be an effort to improve Muslim students' literacy skills in reading and comprehending the Al-Quran. One of the competencies listed in the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum that students are expected to master is this one. In a broader sense, the Al-Qur'an Literacy Movement is a part of initiatives to develop students' character. This study's objective was to learn more about the possibilities and difficulties associated with implementing the Al-Qur'an Literacy Movement at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Bekasi in the Bekasi district. Descriptive techniques are used in this study's qualitative methodology. In terms of methods for gathering data, such as observation, interviews, and documentation. A madrasa head, the vice head of the curriculum section, five teachers, and five students made up the respondents in this study. The findings of this study relate to the possibilities and difficulties in bringing about the Al-Qur'an Literacy Movement.
