Abstract
Women often get unfair treatment either by their own people or by men. But women have the strength to face all that. In this paper, the character raised is Hagar. He is a foreigner who enters and lives in the culture of the Israelites. She became a helper, wife and mother to Ishmael, Abraham's son. In her life story, her role as wife and mother for Ishmael did not make her rank rise. Instead, he was still treated as a slave by Sarai. This conflict between him and Sarai became a very important story in the history of the Israelites and the surrounding nations. This paper will provide a reflection on the role of God in their conflict. Even though he suffered God still remember Him. In fact, she was appointed as the mother of other nations.
