Abstract

Dissemination and implementation of organic bio-fertililizer containing selected plant growth promoting rhizobacteria were conducted in Wonogiri, Sukabumi and Cibinong. To support this holistic work, the following laboratory research activities were conducted: (1) Improvement quality of organic bio-fertilizer, (2) study compatibility of each isolates on formulating organic bio-fertilizer, (3) Improvement of chemical analysis of organic bio-fertilizer, (4) Study the endogenous microorganisms, (5) Monitoring of soil biochemistry of orgnic bio-fertilizer field trial. All these research activities were reported separately. At the same time, the revitalization of organic bio-fertilizer was also done. The series of approaches to the stake holder, the members of of house representatives, farmer association ‘gapoktan’ and non government organization were done by delivering workshop, training and field trial. The responses were positive, more than 100 persons in total took part in the workshop as well as in the training. The harvest of rice treated with organic bio-fertilizer increased about 25 % although the synthetic chemical fertilizer applied was reduced 30-50%. The rice production of applied organic fertilizer and control (not applied organic bio-fertilizer) per Ha was 12 ton and 9 ton, respectively. The biomass weight of organic treated bio-fertilizer and non treated rice plantation per Ha were 24 ton and 16 ton, respectively. In general, increasing of crops production about 15-25 % of vegetables treated organic bio-fertilizer ware also achieved in Cibinong and Sukabumi. These impressive increasing crop production attracted local farmer of several sub district (kecamatan). In related to laboratory revitalization, the new laboratory room with new facilities (instruments) was established.
