Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of employee empowerment and job involvement on organizational commitment with job satisfaction as a mediating variable. The population in this study were CivilServants (PNS) at the Regional Secretariat of Central Java-Province, amounting to 578 employees. The sampling technique in this study used the Slovin formula (Amirin, 2011) with an error limit of 5%, obtained 236 respondents, and 236 questionnaires were processed. The data processing method uses the Statistical Program for Social Science (SPSS). The results of hypothesis testing indicate that employee empowerment hasa positive and-significant effect on job satisfaction, so it can be interpreted that the more optimal employee-empowerment, the higher job satisfaction. Job involvement has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction, so it can be interpreted that the higher the job involvement, the higher the job-satisfaction. Jobsatisfaction has a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment, so it can be interpreted that the higher the job satisfaction, the higher the organizational commitment. Employee empowerment has a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment, so it can be interpreted that the more optimal employee empowerment, the higher the organizational commitment. Work involvement has a positive and significant effect on-organizational commitment, so it can be interpreted that the higher the work involvement, the-higher the organizational commitment.
