Kearifan lokal sebagai upaya pelestarian alam “Aek Sipitu Mata” di Desa Pangiringan

This paper discusses how the local wisdom of Huta Pangringan is related to the preservation of the Aek Sipitu Mata environment. This study tries to identify public perceptions of Aek Sipitu Mata. The method used in this research is a qualitative case study method. Researchers went directly to Pangringan Village and carried out research in stages, the first stage was carried out in September – October 2021 and the second stage in February – March 2022. The data was collected using various methods such as direct observation of local residents who are active around Aek Sipitu Mata, to the traditional king's house, as well as observing the entire village by surrounding the entire village area. Data was also collected through in-depth interviews with various informants such as village heads, traditional kings, local residents, elders of niHuta, guards of Aek Sipitu Mata. The results of the study show that Aek Sipitu Mata has an important spiritual and domestic role in the lives of local residents. This allows local residents to try to preserve Aek Sipitu Mata with local wisdom. The form of local wisdom consists of two types, (1) in the form of prohibitions and taboos and (2) in the form of damage control efforts in Aek Sipitu Mata. The conclusion of this study is that Aek Sipitu Mata is an inseparable part of the spiritual life and daily needs of the residents of Paringingan Village. The conservation efforts are carried out through local wisdom that is maintained from generation to generation.
