Abstract
Jean-Paul Sartre defines freedom as contingency which is an existential position of man and the whole reality. According to Sartre, existence is freedom itself. The idea of freedom as an existential position based on the key concept of Sartre’s existentialism, ‘existence precedes essence’. Based on that notion, I argue that Covid-19 phenomenon is an existential moment which affirms the notion of freedom as an existential position of man and the whole reality and I proposes authenticity as a proper disposition in facing our reality.
