Abstract
Dandruff is one of the a skin disease caused by fungal infections that many are suffering especially in Indonesia, which is a tropical country. The prevalence of facing the world reaches 50% at the age of puberty of the entire world population. Pityrosporum Ovale is considered to be the main cause of the disease. Currently, many people use herbal plants to treat dandruff. This literature review was made with the aim of knowing which herbal plants have antifungal properties that affect the growth of the fungus Pityrosporum ovale. This research method is carried out using a Systematic Literature Review, the sites used in literature searches are Google Scholar and NCBI. The keywords used were : “plants against the fungus Pityrosporum Ovale”,”Plants for dandruff”, and “herbs for dandruff”. The literature review are 15 journals. Plant yields that affect the growth od the disease-causing fungus pytirosporum ovalem with very strong, strong, medium and weak inhibition zone categories. Plants with these categories were Cengkeh (Syzygium aromaticum L.) 40.6 mm with a very strong inhibition zone, karuk leaf (Piper sarmentosum Roxb.) 19.44 mm with a strong inhibition zone, water spinach (Ipomoae aquatic) 10.0 mm with a medium inhibition zone and leaf belingbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) 3.07 mm with a weak inhibition zone.
