Abstract
This study aims to (1) How the principal's efforts in improving teachers' pedagogical competence at SD Negeri 25 Jati Tanah Tinggi Kec. Padang Timur, (2) How the principal's efforts in improving teachers' personality competence at SD Negeri 25 Jati Tanah Tinggi Kec. Padang Timur, (3) How the principal's efforts in improving teachers' social competence at SD Negeri 25 Jati Tanah Tinggi Kec. Padang Timur, (4) How the principal's efforts in improving teachers' professional competence at SD Negeri 25 Jati Tanah Tinggi Kec. Padang Timur. This research uses a qualitative approach, while in collecting data, the author uses interviews, observation, and documentation methods. As for data analysis, the author uses data reduction, categorization, synthesis, conclusion drawing. From the results of the study, it was found that: (1) The principal's efforts in improving teachers' pedagogical competence by providing direct coaching and supervision to teachers related to the process of implementing learning in the classroom. In addition, also by assessing the written reports made by teachers in the form of learning tools needed in the learning process, such as the Annual Program (PROTA), Semester Program (PROMES), and Learning Implementation Plan (RPP). (2) The principal's efforts in improving teachers' personality competence by providing good examples to teachers. In addition, principals always supervise teachers both in the classroom and outside the classroom. If there is teacher behavior that is opposite or not in accordance with the norms of teacher personality competence, then the principal conducts coaching in the form of an individual approach and gives a direct warning to the teacher. (3) The principal's efforts in improving social competence by creating a sense of togetherness and kinship by increasing communication between teachers. So as to create a harmonious and comfortable working atmosphere in the school environment. (4) Principals' efforts in improving teachers' professional competence by coaching and involving teachers in training activities, seminars, workshops, and KKG, to broaden teachers' horizons and gain new knowledge, so that they are able to apply it in the learning process at school in order to improve the quality of learning and student output.
