Abstract
This research is motivated by the learning of science which has so far been centered on the teacher. So that it takes a boring science learning. Besides that the completeness standard in learning the desired science has not been reached. The purpose of this study is to describe the improvement of science learning through problem-based learning strategies that include (1) planning, (2) implementation, and (3) learning outcomes. The approach used is a qualitative approach. This research data in the form of information about the process and action data obtained from observations, test results, discussions and documentation. Data source is the process of implementing science learning through problem-based learning strategies in class V SDN 27 Pemancungan. The subject of the research was the teacher (observer), researcher (practitioner) and fifth grade students of SD 27 Pemancungan, totaling 27 people. Data analysis was performed using a qualitative data analysis model. Based on the results of the study, seen student learning outcomes increase. By using problem-based learning strategies, the percentage of the results of the average value of student learning in the first cycle was 66.97% and in the second cycle the percentage of the results of the average value of students was 82.26%. The percentage increase in the results of the average value of the first cycle and second cycle was 5.29%. The conclusion of this study is to use data-based learning strategies to improve student learning outcomes in grade V SDN 27 Beheading so it is suggested as follows: (1) for principals should be able to motivate and foster teachers to use problem-based learning strategies in learning in schools and monitor its implementation (2) for teachers should the problem-based learning strategy can be used as one approach that can be used in science learning to improve student learning outcomes, (3) for other researchers who are interested in problem-based learning strategies in order to conduct research using other materials (4) for the reader to be able to add insight into problem-based learning strategies.
