Abstract
In order to study the effect of Rhizobium, vesicular Arbuscular Mycorrhiza (VAM) and plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) on microbial population and soil enzymatic activities of soybean (Glycine max L.) an experiment was conducted at Cibinong science center during rainy season 2010. Experiment laid out as randomized complete block design with five replications four biofertilizers (Vesicular Arbuscular Mycorrhiza (T1); Pseudomonas sp., Bacillus sp. and Streptomyces sp (T2); combination T2 with half dosage of inorganic fertilizer and combination of T2 with full dosage of iorganic fertilizer. Results showed that the highest microbial populations of N-fixing, P-solubilizing and protein degrading bacteria were observed in the treatments of combination biofertilizer (Rhizobium and VAM) with liquid organic biofertilizer. Yet the soil enzyme activities (Phosphomonoesterase & Urease) were higher in the inorganic fertilizer treatment. However the soil respiration of full dosage inorganic treatments was lower than other treatments. The correlation of biofertilizer with soil biochemical properties will be discussed more detail in this paper.
