Abstract

ABSTRACT
ANALYSIS OF IMPORTANCE MEASURES FOR DIGITAL INSTRUMENTATION AND
CONTROL SYSTEM OF NUCLEAR REACTOR.I & C system is one of the vital systems in nuclear
reactor. This system serves to monitor and control all process in the reactor in all conditions. I & C
system in the nuclear reactor are divided into several categories, namely: safety I & C systems,
safety-related I & C systems and non-safety-related I & C systems. In terms of architecture, the I &
C systems are arranged in some types of redundancy, such as 1oo2, 2oo3 and 2oo4. In the
previous study, it had been evaluated the comparison of reliability level of digital I&C system
configured 1oo2, 1oo3 and 2oo3 as a function of the mission times. This paper aims to analyse the
component importance measuresof the digital I & C system configured 1oo2, 2oo3 and 2oo4, as
widely used in the nuclear reactors.The component importance measures are obtained by
developing fault tree models of the system andcalculatethemathematical equations of F-Vesely,
Birnbaum and B-Proschan importance parameters by using the software ITEM TOOLKIT. Through
the comparison of the importance measures of each component in the digital I & C system
configured 1oo2, 1oo3 and 2oo4, it can be concluded that if the number of component
redundancies in the system are smaller, the critical components will more dominant in causing the
failure of the system.

ABSTRAK
ANALISIS IMPORTANCE MEASURE UNTUKSISTEMINSTRUMENTASI DAN KENDALI
DIGITAL REAKTOR NUKLIR. Sistem Instrumentasi dan Kendali (I&K) merupakan suatu sistem
yang vital dalam reaktor nuklir. Sistem ini berfungsi untuk memantau dan mengendalikan seluruh
proses yang ada di dalam reaktor dalam setiap kondisi. Sistem I&K di dalam reaktor nuklir dibagi
dalam beberapa kategori, seperti: sistem I&K keselamatan, sistem I&K terkait keselamatan dan
sistem I&K tidak terkait keselamatan. Dalam bentuk arsitektur, sistem I&K tersusun dalam
beberapa tipe redundansi, seperti: 1oo2, 2oo3 dan 2004. Pada studi sebelumnya sudah dilakukan
evaluasi dalam bentuk perbandingan tingkat keandalan sistem I&K digital berkonfigurasi 1oo2,
2oo3 and 2oo3 sebagai fungsi waktu misi. Makalah ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis nilai
importance measure komponen dari sistem I&K digital berkonfigurasi 1oo2, 1oo3 dan 2oo4, yang
umum dipakai di reactor nuklir. Importance measure komponen didapatkan dengan cara
mengembangkan model pohon kegagalan sistem dan menghitung persamaan matematis
parameter F-Vesely, Birnbaum and B-Proschan importance dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak
ITEM TOOLKIT. Melalui perbandingan nilai importance measure masing-masing komponen pada
sistem I&K digital berkonfigurasi 1oo2, 1oo3 dan 2oo4, dapat disimpulkan bahwa jika jumlah
redundansi komponen di dalam sistem semakin kecil maka komponen kritis semakin dominan
dalam menyebabkan kegagalan sistem tersebut.
