Abstract

This research is motivated by the learning process at SMP Negeri 1 Hilisalawaahe is still teacher-centered and limited teaching materials make students less interested in the learning process. This study aims to produce an inquiry-based module on Environmental Pollution material that is feasible, practical and effective. The research subjects at SMP Negeri 1 Hilisalawaahe in class VII A, by taking a sample of 16 students. This study uses a 4-D development model consisting of define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. In this study, the disseminate stage was carried out in a limited way, in class VII A. The instrument used was a module validation sheet which included aspects of the feasibility of content or material, language feasibility, design feasibility, student responses and learning outcomes tests. Research Results: (1). The feasibility of the module by material experts gets a percentage of 97% with very decent criteria, the feasibility of the module by a linguist gets a percentage of 93% with very decent criteria, the feasibility of the module by design experts gets a percentage of 96% with very decent criteria, the feasibility of the module by the subject teacher gets a percentage 95% with very decent criteria; (2). the results of the practicality of the student module in the individual test of 75% in the practical category, in the small group test in 77% in the practical category and in the field test in 100% in the very practical category; and (3). The results of the effectiveness of the module based on the analysis of the student learning outcomes test obtained the percentage of student learning completeness of 86%. Criteria are very effective. Based on these results, the module has been valid, practical, and effectively used in the learning process.
