Abstract

The development of the era that is increasingly fast and rapidly affects the world of education. The world of education is experiencing changes and reforms. The teacher is the main subject of education actors who are very influential on the success of an education. Along with the main task of the teacher, namely teaching, in the teaching and learning process that takes place in schools, teachers are not only required to be able to deliver subject matter, but are required to be able to guide and encourage students to study harder. Therefore, the teacher must be able to master the lesson material that will be delivered to students along with the delivery method. The formulation of the problem to be presented as study material is whether creative and independent learning methods of creating simple works through the manufacture of automatic flashlights for sixth grade students can improve science learning outcomes for sixth grade students at SDN 15 Jati Tanah Tinggi. The subjects in this study were class VI students of SDN 15 Jati Tanah Tinggi, East Padang District, totaling 38 students. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, tests and documentation. Data analysis technique using descriptive qualitative. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that creative and independent learning by creating simple works, one of which is by making automatic flashlights in science subjects, can improve the learning outcomes of sixth grade students at SDN 15 Jati Tanah Tinggi, East Padang District. The advice given by the researcher is to motivate students in learning, it is hoped that teachers will apply learning that emphasizes creativity and independence by providing opportunities for students to work.
