Abstract
This study aims to describe Teacher Competency Improvement in the Use of Google Classroom Applications as Learning Media during the Covid-19 pandemic. This School Action Research was carried out in 3 cycles. Each cycle is carried out for 2 months in semester 1. The research subjects are teachers of SMP Negeri 18 Jambi City for the 2020/2021 Academic Year the instruments used are in the form of tests and non-tests. Data collection techniques through 1). Documentation of the results of observation sheets by teachers and principals as researchers, 2) tests in the form of assessment and observation sheets, and 3) questionnaires, to find out the teacher's response to the application of using the Google Classroom application as a learning medium during the COVID-19 pandemic.The analysis step is through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the use of the google classroom application as a learning medium was able to improve teacher competence in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic at SMP Negeri 19 Jambi City. This is indicated by before the study, showing the percentage of teachers' opinions in using the Google Classroom application from the beginning as many as 11 teachers disagreed with a percentage of 26% down to 0 with a percentage of 0%, although there were still 5 teachers who stated that they quite agreed with a percentage of 12%. . The results of cycles 1 to 3 have increased by 18%. The results showed that the percentage of teachers' ability to use the Google Classroom application from the beginning was 32%. Teachers were less competent in using the Google Classroom application, with an average overall teacher competency with predicate less before the study, reduced to 7% Less teachers.
