Abstract
This study aims to: determine the application of the Make a Match learning method in improving students' understanding of the processing aspect of craft learning.This research was conducted on October 1, 2018 – June 20, 2019 at SMP Negeri 10 Padang. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research subjects were students of class VII B SMP Negeri 10 Padang totaling 32 students. Data collection methods used include observation, tests, understanding, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is descriptive quantitative.The results showed that: 1) the application of the Make a Match learning method in the Processing Aspect Craft subject had a good impact on student activities including: students became more active in learning activities; students are directly involved in learning as a real example of the interaction between teachers and students; there is good cooperation in each student in solving problems; students begin to have the courage to express their opinions during presentations and ask the teacher; The interaction between teachers and students is very well established and students are more enthusiastic about participating in learning. 2) learning the theory of processing aspects of the craft subject by applying the Make a Match learning method can improve the understanding of class VII B students at SMP Negeri 10 Padang. The results of the first cycle of research showed the results of the pre-test with a percentage of completeness of 6.25% with an average of 6.62, while the results of the post-test showed that the percentage of completeness was 78.12% with an average of 7.89. In the second cycle pre-test showed the results of 15.62% with an average of 7.25, while the post-test results showed the percentage of completeness was 96.87% with an average of 8.62. The percentage increase in the first cycle was
71.87% and the second cycle reached 81.25%
