Abstract

This research started with the students' lack of interest in learning to weave. Each learning student only wants to see and pay attention to the teacher, only 60% of the students are really creative, this is due to the lack of teacher methods and the media used are less attractive to children. Creative arts activities for kindergarten children in addition to drawing, painting, printing, folding, cutting activities are also given an introduction to skills. Activities are carried out by weaving paper, banana leaves and even foam. As professional educators, teachers must try to motivate children so that learning is liked and gets maximum results. origami paper and coconut leaves with demonstration and assignment methods. This research is a Classroom Action Research that is specifically planned to motivate children, which is carried out in 2 (two) cycles in a span of 2 (two) weeks. In the first cycle the children carried out with origami paper material. However, in this cycle many children felt bored and were not interested in working with paper materials, for the reason of fear of tearing their hands and being reluctant to hold the paper. The percentage of children's success in cycle 1 (one) was only 60%. In the second cycle, it was designed to use young coconut leaves. Children's interest begins to appear and children start to get excited about doing this activityIt can be seen from the children's work that has reached 83%. After seeing the results of the two cycles carried out, it can be concluded that in early childhood life to develop students' creativity is to encourage intrinsic motivation in thinking so that children can develop and be free in creativity
