Abstract

The learning method before the research was carried out was still using the conventional method, namely by using lectures. The learning outcomes of SMPN 11 Padang students are also still low, this is indicated by the results of the rest of the test before the study. Students who have not completed or have a score of less than 75 which is the KKM limit are 14 students, while those who have met the completion limit are 18 students, with a passing percentage of only 56.25%. This shows that the students of class VIII.2 have not been able to achieve satisfactory results. The purpose of this research is to improve student learning outcomes towards learning by using the Two Stay Two Stray type of cooperative learning method. This type of research is classroom action research which consists of two cycles, where in each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection.In the first cycle test results, it can be seen from the results of students' completeness scores, namely students who completed a total of 22 students while those who had not completed as many as 10 students. The average value of students is 80.16 with a passing percentage of 81.25%. In the second cycle test results again increased. This can be seen from the results of students' completeness scores, namely 26 students who have completed while 6 students have not completed. The average value of students is 80.16 with a passing percentage of 81.25%.Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there was an increase in student learning outcomes of class VIII.2 SMPN 11 Padang after using the Two Stay Two Stray type of cooperative learning method. Students also gave a positive response to the learning model. Teachers and prospective teachers can use the Two Stay Two Stray type of cooperative learning method as an alternative learning method.
