Abstract

PPKn learning in class VIII.1 SMPN 11 Padang, students talk more with their classmates than ask the teacher or listen to the teacher's explanation, students are also less active in learning in class. One model to overcome this problem is to use the TGT type of cooperative learning model. This classroom action research was carried out through 2 cycles with each cycle the stages were planning, action, observation and reflection.The results of the study can be seen that the implementation of learning using the TGT type cooperative learning model can take place optimally. Based on the results of the evaluation tests carried out at the end of the first cycle of learning, there were 20 students who had completed, and there were 12 students who had not. Then the highest value is 80 and the lowest value is 50. The average value of the class in the first cycle is 71.88 with a classical completeness percentage of 62.5%. Improvements made in cycle II again experienced an increase in learning outcomes along with student activities in following the
learning process. In the second cycle evaluation test results have increased, there are 27 students who have completed, and there are 5 students who have not. Then the highest value is 90 and the lowest value is 60. The average value of the class in the second cycle is 78.44% with a classical completeness percentage of 84.38%. In cycle II it can be said to be successful because the class average and classical completeness have exceeded the specified success indicator, which is 75% and managed to meet the completeness
requirements determined by the school, which is 75. It can be concluded that the TGT type cooperative learning model in Civics lessons for class VIII.1 SMPN 11 Padang has been able to make a positive contribution to improving student learning outcomes and student activities with direct student involvement.
