Abstract

Water Resources management is very important in order to be used sustainably with the expected quality level. One of the step is monitoring and interpretation of water quality data. Citanduy watershed has a role to performance of the Segara Anakan ecosystem. Citanduy River suplies freshwater , sediment, and other pollutant from domestic and agriculture wastes. Ojectives of the study is to reveal the spatio- temporal distribution of water physico-chemical parameter in all along the Citanduy watershed, the quality status, and clasification of the sampling site. The samplings were conducted three times in 2005 at six sampling site. Temperature, pH, conductivity, and dissolved oxygen were measured using Water Quality Checker (WQC) HORIBA U-10. Water samples were taken compositely from each station and were analyzed for BOD5, COD, total dissolved solid (TDS), N-nitrite, N-nitrate, P-phosphate, copper (Cu), timbal (Pb), zinc (Zn), dan manganese (Mn). Analyses of water samples were conducted following the methods described in Standard Methods (19th edition). Data analysis were conducted by statistic software with Multivariate method. Temporally, concentration of N-nitrite, N-nitrate, and P-phosphate showed significant differently. Spatially, significant differences were showed by COD, Zn, Pb, dan Mn. Generally, concentration of Pb, Cu, Zn, and Mn were more than the set point values (according to Ministry of Environmental decree No. 115, 2003). Also for COD, as the pollution indicator, the concentration was higher than the set point values for raw material of drinking water and agriculure/fisheries criteria especially. Calculation of the Pollution Index (PI) formula showed all of the sampling sites were low polluted for raw material of drinking water and agriculure/ fisheries criteria. Based on cluster analysis found four group of the sampling sites. Group 1 are station 3 and station 6, group 2 are station 1 and station 2, and for group 3 and 4 each are station 4 and station 5.
