Abstract
Dosimeter is a radiation dose exposure measurement. This study have investigated the use of Onyx Stone,Andesite Stone, and Silica Sand which are quartz based material to be used as dosimeters. The purpose of this study is to analyze the composition and morphology to the properties of thermoluminescence dosimetry and to analyze the nature of the most excellent among the onyx stone, andesite stone, and silica sand. This study was conducted with a sample made of powder. Furthermore it mixed with Teflon in the manufacture of pellets. The high radiation is given in various dose 1 kGy, 3 kGy, and 10 kGy. Evaluation of onyx stone,
andesite stone, and silica sand in the form of pellets made using thermoluminescence reader with a heating speed of 10 ° C / s. Results of testing prove the three of eight samples are quartz (SiO2) which are andesite,onyx, and silica sand. Testing concluded that the dose-response nature of the silica sand and onyx is better than andesite stone. Silica sand had the fewest residue, highest sensitivity, and the most uniform of TL Glow Curves. Onyx stone showed the best of repeatability, reproducibility, and dose response curve.
