Abstract
Settlement site is a site where people lived and did their daily activities. A settlement could be at any place or landscape as long as the natural resource provided so that the continuity of daily life fulfilled. Archaeological settlement site can be identified by some indicators for examples the existance of household waste, kitchen utensils, and housewares. The site of Tlamben in Karangasem can be identified as a settlement site. I can be seen from the findings of archaeological artifacts such as broken earthenware (kereweng), broken tile, gacuk, mortar stone, and ancient statues. All of them are clasified into housewares, kitchen utensils and mediums for religion activities. From the cronology of the ceramics and the ancient statues, it can be estimated that the site of Tulamben han been occupied since about IO 17 A.D. That place was left by its people because of the volcano eruption of Mount Agung that happened repeatedly.
