Abstract
The effect of some elements (Sb, As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Co, Bi, Ni, Al, Pb, Hg, Mo, Mn, Th and Zr) with various concentrations of 0,5 - 10 mg/50 ml on the saparation and analysis of 300 ug. Ce /50 ml in uranyl sulphate samples using visble spectrophotometry method at the wevelength of 350 - 750 nm was studied. The procedure involved the dissolution of samples in sulfuric acid (1 : 4) solution, followed by the extraction of cerium into oxinchloroform solution being free from acid and water. The result was analyzed at 490 nm, after 10 minutes. The samples containing 100 - 300 ug/50 ml of cerium showed no diffculty to be analyzed by this method and these elements of Cd, Bi, Pb, Mn, Cr, Cu, Ni, Hg, Sb, Mo, Co, and Zr with various concentration of 10 mg/50 ml and 4 mg/ 50 mlrespectively where influence on the cerium separation.
