Abstract
The result ofarchaeological research in Kendaljaya site proved that this area had been occupied by a group of community around the 2and 3 century. The dating was given, especially based on the earthenware dating "Romano Indian Roulatted Pottery" which was found at this site. Kendal jaya community as the supporter of Buni Culture was expected to occupy this area since "Perundagian" era, which was identified through archaeologicalfinds in theforms ofartifacts such as decorated earthenwares, beads, net pendulum (bandul jala), human bones fragments, golden jewelries and bronze fragment. Generally, thoseartifacts were burial gift and this site is the evidence that there was arelation between Kendaljaya and Buni culture. The main vegetation in this area are mangrove and coconut trees. The swamp area which is influenced by the rise and the fall ofthe sea water, was not occupied. It was proved by the existence of nipa palm and coconut trees. On the other hand, the land offlood overflow follow the flow of Citarum river and its tributary. This land had high fertility level and provided enough water so that people chosed this area for living place andfarming. Thenature condition as described above became a choicefor society supporterofpre-historic culture especially "Perundagian" era.
