Abstract
NOTES ON DETERMINATION OF DISSOLVED OXYGEN IN SEA WATER BY WINKLER METHOD. Most of the existing data have been obtained by using the WINKLER titrimetric method for measuring dissolved oxygen in sea water, WINKLER is the first scientist who determinated dissolved oxygen in water by iodometric method. Several years later, the other scientist found that the WINKLER method could be interferenced by others chemical substances, temperature and phytoplankton ALSTERBERG is the first scientist who can eliminated the nitrite interference, the most common interfering substance in sea water. But several scientists recently told that some problems must be considered for determining dissolved oxygen by the WINKLER method, such as type of water sampler, the added reagents and the storage method.
