TIDAL RESOURCES AS ENERGY FOR ELECTRICAL POWER GENERATOR.
Many sites in Indonesia estuaries show high potential of tidal energy. Due to a rapid deplection of oil resources, studying of the future possibilities of electrical power production from the tidal energy is considered importance especially for countries having limited oil resources like Indonesia In this paper, the mechanism of the work of single basin system as well as double basin system of tidal energy conversion into electric power was described. As an example, a calculation of tidal prism volume of electrical tidal power plant at Biscayne, America, is also given. The same calculation at Banyuasin estuary, Sumatera, has also been made. To realize this idea still many studies and researches have to be done.
