Pemanfaatan video call sebagai sarana penyutradaraan jarak jauh dalam Drama Radio “Dendam”

The Covid-19 outbreak requires all Indonesian people to have limited face-to-face interactions so as not to be exposed to the virus. This makes creative workers who usually engage in face-to-face activities have to rack their brains. This paper attempts to describe the writer’s efforts as a director in directing a radio drama remotely. Currently, human life has benefited from technology that supports long-distance radio drama directing, one of which is the video call. Technology has become a means to apply the theory of the directing of radio drama casts. The theories chosen to achieve character deepening were the theory of word ability, and vocal techniques. Directing to a narrator was done through video call in the WhatsApp and Zoom applications. Based on the production process that has been undertaken, the directing technique of a radio drama remotely by means of a video call can actually be realized. This is an alternative way to produce radio dramas when people are still in limited conditions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
