Fenologi perkembangan bunga Centella asiatica dan studi waktu kematangan pollen pada berbagai stadia

Information on flower development (penology) of the species Centella asiaticais needed to support the potential for genetic improvement programs. On the other hand, the information about the flower still limited to the study of the flower morphology, so research on penology of the flower development important to do. This study aimed to provide preliminary information about the penology of flower development of C. asiaticaspecies and studies about viability of the pollen in any stage. The results from observation research are the stage of flowering C.asiaticathat begins when the small buds until the occurrence of fertilization takes approximately 11–14 days. The flower development was separated into five stages, namely the small bud stage on day 9 until 11 before anthesis, a large bud stage on day 6 until 8 before anthesis, flower will be an open stage on day 4 until 6 before anthesis, the open flower stage (anthesi) which lasts for 2–3 days, and continued with the stage of fertilization. C.asiaticapollen showed low viability, before anthesis stage the viability are 0%, when antheis the viability under 50%. Given this information are expected to help the breeders program of C. Asiatica species to improve the genetic quality and basic information for further study.
