Abstract

Fault rupture geometry, which can be represented by the rupture aspect ratio (RAR) parameter, is one of important parameters to be accounted for when performing the probabilistic seismic hazard analysis. The objective of this paper is to investigate the effect of rupture aspect ratio to the PGA value within Plampang area in Sumbawa Island. Input parameters were developed on a simple seismotectonic model which covers the geometry of the seismogenic source and the Gutenberg-Richter parameters. Four models of different RAR values were used to investigate the effect of RAR toward the PGA value of the studied area. The calculation was performed using OpenQuake engine. Results showed that PGA value was increased along with the increasing RAR value.
