Kajian Awal Kondisi Geologi Kepulauan Barelang Pada Kegiatan Pra Survei Tapak PLTN

Year 2003 on Site Evaluation recommend requirement of geological aspect study related to site area safety for Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). Based on above reason it has
been done preliminary survey activity for geological aspect in order to decide NPP site interest area in Barelang. The purpose of research is to get an initial review of geological conditions in some coastal islands linked to the establishment of Barelang NPP site. The study was conducted in August 2015 - January 2016, and it covers an area of the eastern and the western coast of Barelang Islands. The scope covers literature study, secondary data collection, observation and field data collection, integrated analysis of observational data and rankings. Results showed that the geology Barelang Islands composed on granite (Trg), shale formation Duriangkang (Trsd), shale formation of Pulau Panjang (Jp), conglomerate of Formation Tanjungkerotang (Tmpt), sandstones and tuffaceous formations Goungon (Qtg) and alluvium deposit (Qa). Interest site area for NPP in Barelang Islands is the region with the distribution of granite rocks, shale, and conglomerates, such as Tanjung Sauh Island, Sijantung Village, and Kelingking Peninsula.
