PENENTUAN JARAK MINIMUM ANTAR CARRIER YANG BERURUTAN DI LINTASAN GERAK PADA IRADIATOR GAMMA IR-200 K. Desain untuk menentukan jarak minimum antar carrier pada lintasan instalasi iradiator gamma IR-200K dilakukan. Kesetimbangan antara gaya sentrifugal dari carrier pada lintasan melingkar dan gaya beratnya serta dimensi dari carrier digunakan sebagai parameter dalam menentukan jarak minimum tersebut. Ditetapkan jarak minimum antar carrier dalam desain 1.2 meter. Jarak ini 11.5% lebih besar dari jarak minimumantar carrier menurut perhitungan teoritis yaitu 1.076 meter. Toleransi kesalahan dalam konstruksi/instalasi lintasan serta hal lain tak terduga dalam operasi menjadi pertimbangan untuk memperbesar jarak tersebut dari nilai teoritisnya. Kondisi ini tidak akan mempengaruhi throuhput dan efisiensi penggunaan radiasi karena pada segmen lintasan yang lurus tidak perlu mengikuti jarak minimum antar carrier ini, karena segmen lintasan carrier disekitar sumber radiasi lurus.

MINIMUM DISTANCE DETERMINATION BETWEEN CONSECUTIVE CARRIERS IN THE
GAMMA IRRADIATOR IR-200 K TRAJECTORY. A design to determine the minimum distance between the consecutive carriers at the trajectory of gamma irradiators IR-200K is implemented. Equilibrium between centrifugal force of a moving carrier in circular trajectory and its gravity force as well as carrier dimensions are used as parameters in determining such a minimum distance. The minimum distance between the consecutive carriers in the design is defined 1.2 meters. The distance is 11.5% greater than the minimum distance theoretically calculated, namely 1,076 meters. Errors tolerance in construction/installation of the trajectory and other unexpected things during irradiator’s operation are part of the consideration to enlarge the minimum distance from its
theoretical value. The distance between the consecutive carriers will not affect throuhput and efficiency of using radiation due to the straight trajectory segments do not need to follow such the minimum distance between the carriers, as the trajectory segments around the iradiation sources are straight.
