Abstract
YBa{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub 7-}x /Ag{sub 2}O )superconductor has been done by using by of solid states reaction. Of 0,5,10, and 20wt% of silver oxide were mixed with 2 gram of YBa{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub 7-}x precursors. The mixing was done in mortar agate, and then followed by calcinations at 900{sup o}C for 4 hours and sintering at 940 {sup o}C for 10 hours. The characterization was done using x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and four point probe technique. The results shows that YBa{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub 7-}x high Tc superconductor has an orthorhombic crystal structure that featured by diffraction pattern peaks at (00,3), (110/103), (005), (113), and (006). The critical temperature (Tc) of YBa{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub 7}-x /Ag{sub 2}O were obtained of 89 K and 88 K respectively, and critical current density increases with increasing addition of Ag{sub 2}O.
