The synthesis and characterization of bismuth sulfide/activated carbon based on coconut fiber have been carried out using the hydrothermal method. The present research involved three stages: (i) composite synthesis, (ii) composite characterization, and (iii) performance testing of the battery composite as an anode. The synthesis was carried out by mixing bismuth nitrate pentahydrate, thiourea, and coconut fiber-activated carbon as precursors, which were then put into the hydrothermal reactor and boiled at 120 °C with variations in synthesis time. The product characterization was carried out using FTIR, XRD, SEM, and LCR meters. The final step was to test the performance of the battery in the form of cyclic voltammetry and charge–discharge. The results showed that the BCF24 configuration had an electrical conductivity of 4.29 × 10-4 S.cm-1 and a specific capacity of 77.779 mA.h.g-1 with a Coulomb efficiency of 78.79%. This finding opens a way to explore this composite properties for battery electrode.
