This work reports on the preparation of nickel cobalt hydrogen phosphate as an electrode for supercapatteries. The morphology of the hydrogen phosphate was controlled by varying the ethanol-to-water ratio to 1:0, 5:1, 3:1, 2:1, and 1:1. It was found that a higher proportion of water resulted in a layered structure of the products. X-ray diffraction patterns and infrared spectra confirmed the formation of nickel cobalt hydrogen phosphate. As supercapattery electrode, the sample prepared with an ethanol-to-water ratio of 2:1, denoted as NiCoP1-4 exhibited a high specific capacity of 424 Cg−1 at a current density of 0.5 Ag−1 surpassing that of the electrode prepared using only ethanol. Furthermore, NiCoPi-4 demonstrated high stability with 96.3% retention after 5000 cycles.
