Peran Kompos dan Varietas dalam Meningkatkan Produktivitas Padi Gogo di Lahan Kering Masam

Soil organic matter is an important component determining soilfertility, especially in tropical areas such as Indonesia with hightemperatures and rainfall. Increased productivity of dry land canbe pursued through several ways, including the use of early-maturing varieties, the application of cropping patterns that are inaccordance with the pattern and rainfall, improvement of croppingsystem, and land conservation. This study aims to determine theeffect of compost and rice variety on upland rice yields. Theresearch was conducted on dry acid dryland lowland wet climate,in Tegineneng Experimental Garden, Mandah Village, NatarDistrict, South Lampung Regency from April to July 2019. Thestudy was performed in factorial randomized block design. Thefirst factor is three levels of fertilization doses, namely P0 (200 kgUrea/ha + 200 kg Phonska/ha + 2 t/ha of compost/existing dose),P1(200 kg/ha Urea + 200 kg/ha SP36 + 150 kg/ha KCl + 4 t/hacompost), and P2 (150 kg/ha Urea + 150 kg/ha SP36 + 112 .5 kg/haKCl + 6 t/ha of compost). The second factor was the rice varieties(Inpago-9 and Inpago-12 Agritan), with three replications.Theparameters observed were the growth and yield component. Theapplication of P2 gave higher yields to the Inpago-12 Agritan withan increase of 27.47% compared to the Inpago-9, and 53.30% and52.20% higher than P1 and P0 respectively.
