Abstract
The title of this thesis is 'An Implementation of Multiple Criteria Decision Making Methods for alternative routes and fleets in Eastern Indonesia'. Decision maker is faced to a problem deciding the optimum ship route and fleet of the alternative given routes, in this study, Surabaya-Banjarmasin, Surabaya- Ujungpandang, and Surabaya-Jayapura; and alternative given fleets, Caraka Jaya III-3rd Phase 4180 DWT and Palwa Buana 5950 DWT. According to its title this problem is solved by using two Multiple Criteria Decision Making Methods; namely, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Hybrid MADM Problem. The goals of the use of the method are to maximise income, minimise expenditure, and optimise ship operation. So, income, expenditure, and ship operation become the attributes of this study. The sub-attributes associated with them are Freight Rate, Transport Capacity, and Frequency of Services, Operation Costs, Maintenance Costs, Ship Investment, Cargo Handling Equipment, Port Facilities, Time of Services. By using those two methods and giving them the same weightages, those alternative routes and fleets are ranked.
